  • Greater Creators

This first episode of Greater Creators has arrived! I was the head writer on this 14-episode series for Machinima, which premiered today exclusively on Verizon's go90 app. It's hosted and produced by the wonderful and badass Comicbookgirl19, one of my favorite people in the world. We first worked together on Marvel's Off The Rack, which was produced by Maker Studios for Verizon go90.

Each episode takes an in-depth look at a different "Greater Creator" (Alan MooreGene RoddenberryFrank HerbertStephen KingStanley KubrickHayao MiyazakiFrank Frazetta, and Ray Harryhausen, among others). The always clever, engaging, and informative CB19 is joined by her sidekicks Robot and Space Brain, beloved by fans of her super popular YouTube shows.

Bleeding Cool has exclusively debuted the first four minutes of the pilot episode on Jack Kirby. Check it out and if you like what you see, grab the go90 app (it's free) and check out new episodes each week.

  • Dream Theater

I had the pleasure of working on written material for Dream Theater, directly with John Petrucci, for their ambitious concept album, The Astonishing.  Among my contributions: the copy for this trailer, which is read by an actor in voiceover. It was originally written for print materials only. Petrucci dug it so much, it went into the trailer.

  • Eric Andre & Hannibal Buress

I visited the Hollywood set of The Eric Andre Show where Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress weighed in on Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, Marilyn Manson, The Used and other Alternative Press Music Awards talent and it was fantastic. WATCH HERE

  • AltPress: “I learned by going broke”—Brian ‘Head’ Welch talks new book

Brian Welch’s life has been full of seemingly incongruent, if not altogether unlikely, identities: hard rock pioneer; MTV celebrity; rock radio hit-maker; drug addict; believer; single father; bankrupt. But perhaps the most incredible title in the biography of the man widely known as “Head” is author. Sure, rockstar memoirs are a dime a dozen, but this week sees the release of the guitarist’s fourth book, With My Eyes Wide Open: Miracles And Mistakes On My Way Back To Korn. Now underneath “Discography” the dude has his own “Bibliography” section on Wikipedia. The new book details the decade he spent away from the band that made him famous, detailing everything from his solo band that became Love & Death, raising his teenaged daughter, dealing with personal and financial betrayals, his continued walk in the Christian faith up to his reunion with Korn in 2012. I caught up with Head to talk about his bankruptcy, the new book and the forthcoming 12th studio album from nü-metal’s pioneers.
